WORKSHOP ON CORE STRENGTH AND BACKBENDS​

Saturday April 13 at 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

In yoga, the abdominal muscles play a crucial role by supporting the spine and body throughout the practice. Initially, it may be challenging to recognize the inner strength of these core muscles, but with consistent practice, a deeper connection and awareness within the body are cultivated.

​

This workshop integrates yoga asanas and pranayama to gently warm up the entire body, preparing it for targeted core exercises. The focus isn't solely on achieving a toned abdomen but rather on enhancing overall stability and presence on the yoga mat. Participants will engage in backbend sequences, where a strong core enhances the experience. Various techniques will be explored, including drills to safely deepen backbends such as dropbacks and kapotasana, always honoring individual limitations. The aim is to leave participants with a sense of openness in the chest and newfound confidence in their practice.
